Marla Newton

Marla is excited to join the Surf Hatteras team this summer. Upon graduating high school in Virginia Beach last year, Marla took off to South America to learn Spanish, travel and volunteer. She spent over a month living in an orphanage in Bolivia, became scuba certified in Belize, surfed in Costa Rica and Guatemala, and worked with Operation Smile in several countries. Marla typically spends her summers lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons, but this year she’s excited to trade the pool for some surf and sand.
