A WEEK-LONG CUSTOMIZED SURF AND ADVENTURE TOUR ON HATTERAS ISLAND FOR SMALL GROUPS

Surfers may book their tour in groups of 2, 4, or 6 (pairs may be matched with other participants)

Who can come?

Boys & girls ages 12-18, all levels welcome.
(Current registrants for each week have priority)

What are the dates?

Summer dates will take the place of any camp week that does not run. Fall long-weekend surf tours are also available to book upon request.

What is the cost?

$2,245 per person
(100% of Surf Hatteras camp fees are transferable, early-bird registrants will still get $100 off)

What are the details?

– Tours are all-inclusive, just like our summer camps weeks
– Same 1:2 staff to camper ratio
– Same top-notch surf instruction and photo/video coverage
– Same great food and hospitality, except with only two per room, staggered meal times, and heightened sanitation and social distancing measures (see all safety protocols below)
– Same transportation options to/from Virginia, except with fewer people per vehicle
– Customized adventures for your group!

What safety measures will be in place due to COVID-19?

Surf Hatteras Custom Tours is a brand new experience (with the same old Surf Hatteras DNA!) designed specifically to limit the risk of COVID-19. Groups are made up of only 4-6 participants (only two per bedroom), and are ideally booked with friends. Groups operate independently and remain separated from one another, except for certain outdoor activities where strict social distancing can be maintained (e.g. surfing). The following are some of the safety protocols we are putting in place:
  • All participants must complete our health screening form before arrival, which requires either 14 days of self-quarantine OR a COVID molecular test within a week before camp and 7 days of self-quarantine.
  • Upon arrival, before entering any Surf Hatteras vehicle or facility, participant’s temperature will be checked with a non-touch infrared thermometer. If any participant is found to have a fever, he or she will be sent home.
  • Daily temperature checks will be administered for all participants and staff, and protocols will be enacted to isolate, confirm, respond, and remove any individual with suspected COVID-19.
  • Groups are spread across two properties (as opposed to the usual one), and each group has its own separate agenda, vehicle, and mealtimes.
  • Facilities will be cleaned and sanitized multiple times daily with CDC-approved sporicidal disinfectant, and air filters will be changed weekly for optimal air quality.
  • We are training our staff in new protocols and procedures to make every part of the experience as safe and sanitary as possible.
  • Food servers will be wearing personal protective equipment and will be operating according to heightened health standards.
  • Hand sanitizing and social distancing will be a regular/required part of the daily routine for all staff and participants.
  • We are severely limiting access of non-participants onto our properties and also limiting our staff’s exposure to anyone outside Surf Hatteras.
  • Surf Hatteras has always been an outside-oriented experience, but this summer we will be moving even more of our amazing non-surfing activities out-of-doors!
