This is Catherine’s second summer working at Surf Hatteras after being a camper for many summer weeks and some winter sessions over the years. She first learned to surf in Virginia Beach as a child but really fell in love with the sport when her family lived in Tamarindo, Costa Rica in 2012. Since then, she has surfed many different waves but Hatteras sessions remain her favorite! She is from Richmond, Virginia, and graduated from the University of Virginia in May with a major in Youth and Social Innovation as well as English. This fall, she will be attending Vanderbilt University to pursue her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She’ll miss the trails and restaurants around Charlottesville but is excited about the music and mountains in Nashville! Catherine can’t wait to spend another summer sharing her passion with the Surf Hatteras Team!
